Break Time
This week has been so busy! With not watching the tv constantly, we are finding ways to fill our time and we have felt busier than ever.
We decided to have a family game night with our kids. One of their favorites is Pictionary. My children love the hand me down version my grandparents gifted to us last year. We attempted to buy a newer updated version, but the kids did not enjoy it and kept asking to play the old one. I don't mind too much, as it is helping build their vocabulary (I am a former teacher after all) with words that are not used as often anymore. I am not an overly sentimental person, but I nearly always tear up when we open this original Pictionary box as it brings back so many wonderful memories with my extended family. It still has a slip of scratch paper from IBM, where my grandfather was employed and often brought home notepads made from recycled paper. C brought some note paper home from his place of employment the other day without knowing that this was something my grandpa had done. We always have so much fun and the kids look forward to it. Looks like we will have more time to play games!
